I graduated from Augusta University Medical College of Georgia School of Occupational Therapy with a bachelor’s degree in 1988. I have dedicated over 20 years of my 36 years of practice to Hand Therapy as a Certified Hand Therapist from 1994 to 1999 in Gainesville, GA. In 2017, I returned to Hand Therapy and focused on treating conditions from the shoulder to the hand. I am planning to sit for Hand Therapy certification for the second time later this year.
I have experience performing the following treatments: joint mobilization, myofascial release techniques, cupping, scar tissue management, custom splint fabrication for the elbow, wrist, and hand, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, (IASTM) Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, and activities, mirror therapy, and robotic hand (CPM) Continous Passive Motion.
I am experienced in adult neurological techniques such as Neuro-Integrative Functional Rehabilitation and Habilitation (IFRAH) – Interactive Metronome (IM) – Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) – and other Neuroplasticity therapies.
